This project was an investigation into the patterns and habits of people in the city moving through their daily routines.
Our thoughts centered around the questions of how aware people were of their surroundings, and how they might react to an
object in their path that was close enough to a bench.

We chose materials that were nondescript and built the box to sitting height, but didn't make it in a way that suggested it was city
ordained public structure. Then we took it to various locations where large flows of people typically occurred.

For us the process of transporting the object through the streets, placing it and concealing it, became somewhat rhythmic and ritualistic.
For those for whom it was placed, it became clear to us: people need a moment of pause in their day.
