BB|STUDIO to participate in this year's Guerrilla Truck Show at Morlen Sinoway Atelier: June 16, 2009, 1052 West Fulton Market Street, Chicago, 6-9pm.
I was invited by one of my great inspirations, Jens Risom, to visit his home and studio while I was in NY this month. We met for over 2 hours, during which he told me about his life, and showed me all of his own pieces that he uses everyday in his home. He also told me to stop copying him. :)
We ran into each other a few days later at a reception (pictured, photographed by the lovely J.R. Magsaysay). He's 93 and still working.
I presented my work and the Museum of Science and Industry's Smart Home: Green + Wired '09 at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Finland.

Graffitecture- Chicago Graffiti Artists Attack Photographic Spaces.
We enlisted over 40 Chicago based graffiti artists to draw directly on pristine photographic prints of architectural spaces. Most of the spaces are high-end interiors and exteriors that would not be accessible even to rebellious graffiti writers. In doing this the artists were asked, ‘What would YOU do here’? Using pens, markers, fingernail polish, and the like they responded in many incredible ways. Four essays discuss art, architecture, design, and urban issues in relation to the merits of modern graffiti. The essayists are teachers and professionals well regarded in their fields. Graffitecture is 122 pages soft cover.
The book release opening at Hejfina includes a site-specific photo/graffiti collaboration, installation/wall art, and an area for interactive art/audience participation. Please join us!
